Directions:

From the north - Hwy 20A (Airport Hwy in Toledo) west about 40 miles to County Road 16, turn south to County Road J.  The park is at this intersection.

OR — also from the north, Turnpike to Montpelier Exit, go south on County Road 14 to County Road J, go west about 2 miles to park on the corner of CR-J and CR-16.

From the east (Toledo) — Take Airport Hwy west for about 40 miles, turn south on County Road 16, go to County Road J, park is at that corner.

From the south (Bryan) — Take County Road 15 (also called State Route 15) to County Road J, turn right, go about 1 mile to County Road 16.

I am just about done with the book.  It is coming together well and I only have a few things to add to it.

If you want a hard copy of the book I am only asking for printing costs.  That should be about $15.  I will also have some copies on CD and that would only be $5 for one of those.  I have done a lot of work and if I were to charge for the amount I have done it would definitely be at a much higher cost, so I don’t feel that I am asking for too much.

Anyway, I will have a few hard copies with me at our reuinion, and would appreciate pre-ordering so I can bring enough for those who want one.  I will bring a few with me, but maybe not enough for those who want one. 

Don’t forget our Barrett reunion is on July 5 at Opdyke Park in Williams County Ohio.

There will also be a “Pig in the Poke” auction to raise money for our next reunion, so bring a household item to auction off.

Today I am updating my Ancestry.com website for the Barretts. I deleted the Gedcom I had on there because it had a lot of “iffy” information, as well as a lot of duplicate names (I have no idea how that happened!) so I am redoing the entire thing. Unfortunately my gedcom won’t upload/ I have no idea why so I am doing it all by hand. This means it may take me a few days (or weeks) to get it all done. In the meantime don’t be disappointed if you do not find the info there that you are looking for…it will be there shortly. I am adding all of the lines that feed into the Barrett lineage as well. Yes, some (probably most) of that is the ones that are married into from the time of Cyrus and Susannah to myself. If you have any info that you think I may not have then please send it my way at aunt_sande@yahoo.com.

I plan on keeping information on here regarding the Barrett Genealogy and everything that is going on with it, including but not limited to research, reunions, etc.

I have been researching the Barrett family for over 15 years now and am about ready to print a book for family members. I can always use updated information about the family. Don’t worry, I will not publish sensitive material that could leave a person vulnerable.

The main characters in our family story are Cyrus and Susannah (nee Zettelmeyer) Barrett and Cyrus’ brother Elias and his wife Betsy (nee Herbst) Barrett.

Cyrus and Susannah were both born in 1797 in Pennsylvania and died in Williams County, Ohio, where they moved their large family in the late 1830s. Their youngest son, William H, was the first white child born in their township (Madison) in Williams County, Ohio. The Barrett family were prominent in their area, even serving as the county commissioners. The town they lived in is Kunkle, Ohio. It was at one time known as Barrett Corners. The Barretts had the largest house and barn in the township.
